Lent with WTC: From Seed to Tree (the seed)

Scripture: Jesus said, "Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit." (John 12:24)
Wisdom from a Mystic: “The seed of God is in us. Pear seeds grow into pear trees. Hazel seeds into hazel trees. And God seeds into God.” -Meister Eckhart
Spend some time resting in the silence as you reflect on your wounds and your strengths. What wounds do you carry with you? Which wounds do you desire healing for over the next forty days? What within your sacred spark, your connection to the Divine, provides your healing strength?
Envision yourself as a tree. What kind of tree are you? Listen intuitively to what tree calls to you. Don’t second guess. Just own the tree. After naming the tree, you may want to research the spiritual meaning of that tree. (Search on the internet the “spiritual meaning of [name the tree]).
Hold the energy of your tree’s seed in the palm of your hand. Envision making a hole in the ground of your soul. Drop the seed of yourself in the dirt, cover it with the darkness, and bless it as it stretches into the light.
Prayer: Create a prayer to the Sacred about your seed—through words, image, movement, or another expression...you decide.
Fasting: What will you abstain from or release this week? (Your storyline, food, a habit, or ?????) If unsure, ask yourself what is stopping your seed from receiving nourishment.
Giving: What can you offer this week? An act of kindness, a self-care practice, a donation of time, talent, or resources? Let your gift nurture the seed within as an expression of your desire to grow into your spiritual sprout.
