“Nothing has ever been said about God that hasn’t already been said better by the wind in the pine trees.”

- Thomas Merton

Our Beliefs:

  • We believe that Wisdom is God’s love and knowledge in action and we are to cultivate a relationship with as well as follow ways of Wisdom (Proverbs 3:17)
  • We believe Wisdom is perennial as it arises through all of Creation—at all times, in all places, through all people and traditions.
  • We believe Jesus embodied Wisdom and his Wisdom teachings both spoke to and transcended his own culture, religion, and tradition, so to follow Jesus is one way to cultivate and deepen a relationship with Wisdom.
  • We believe in the reality of and the need to tend to our inner Wisdom as the Spirit of God dwells within each of us.
  • We believe an openness to Wisdom beyond our own experience enriches our own experience and deepens our collective wisdom.
  • We believe Wisdom empowers us with discernment to respond to suffering and evil, both personal and systemic.
  • We believe Wisdom disrupts compulsive dualistic thinking in both individuals and groups and invites nondual thinking (the Christian tradition calls this transformation “the mind of Christ”).
  • We believe in the power of spiritual companionship in helping us grow in Wisdom and discernment. (historical Christian examples are healthy discipleship and ekklesia or beloved community).

Our Ecosystem:

  • Wisdom grounded in contemplative practice (silence, solitude, listening, and discernment)
  • Compassionate curiosity as our Wisdom lens
  • Growing awareness of the nature of Wisdom and the Wisdom Pattern
  • Celebrating Wisdom’s ability to unify and find expression through spirituality, art, and science
  • Nurturing the sharing of collective wisdom for the common good (referred to as the Body of Christ in Christianity)

Our Staff Ecosystem:

All three are necessary in order to thrive:

  • Tend to your work with Wisdom (take care of your work with love and knowledge).
  • Tend to your workmates with Wisdom (take care of your workmates with love and knowledge).
  • Tend to yourself with Wisdom (take care of yourself with love and knowledge)

"God has arranged all things in the world in consideration of everything else."

- St. Hildegard of Bingen
